Picture-Word Inductive Model

In the Street

  1. Choose an image (picture, photo etc.)

  2. Encourage pupils to say what they see in the picture.

  3. Encourage pupils to say who they see in the picture.

  4. Ask the pupils to give the picture a title.

  5. Encourage pupils to say what people are doing. help them with the arrows to lead to the vocabulary you want them to use further.

  6. Show each phrase, say it, spell the words, say the phrase one more time.

  7. Encourage pupils to say each phrase, spell them and say one more time.

  8. Ask pupils to make up sentences with each phrase. Demonstrate a model. Model: The girl is walking a dog.

  9. Pair up the pupils. let the say the sentences to each other.

  10. Unite all the sentences in one short story.
